Oor bit is a piece of waste land where kids go to play after school. It is here throughout their lives that cousins such as Mal and Calum and their pal Static (so called as he is never on the same wave length as anyone else) meet. Here games are enacted sometimes with tragic results. Calum devises ways of avioding his Highland Dancing practice, and the school bully Basher Moodie. Oor bit's gradual demise as boys miss football to be with their lassies.
