In Sissala tradition, a boy of Kasimo's age is not allowed to stay outside his own village for more than a week - not without first travelling blindfolded to Dwarf Village, where he can seek the blessing of his ancestors. As Kasimo awaits his boarding school exam results, Grandma Alima is worried that he may soon leave the village without protection. There are five mystery villages between Pulima and Dwarf Village and as Kasimo sets off at dawn with the dwarf elder, he knows nothing about what lies ahead of him on his journey.
