As Airdrie Library celebrates its centenary, Airdrie-born Graeme Armstrong, award winning author of ‘The Young Team’ and forthcoming ‘Raveheart’, joins us in the library for a special event. ‘Street Belonging’ is a non-fiction journey into Scotland’s troubled history of gang culture and territorial violence.
Graeme shares first-hand experience of the story behind the story, charting his early life as a gang member, using writing and education to change his future, and finally, working in violence prevention with the current generation of young people facing similar challenges.
Please note, this event deals with mature themes from the outset. It is best suited to ages 16 and above and may be affecting for those with lived/living experience.
